The Marbury Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their contest at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-36 win over Benjamin Russell. With that win, Marbury brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Marbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nasiyah Jernigan out in front who scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Jernigan has scored at least 25% of Marbury's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabrielle Brown , who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Marbury's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Benjamin Russell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marbury will challenge Autaugaville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Benjamin Russell is on the road again on Thursday and play against Auburn at 3:30 p.m. on December 7th. One thing working in Auburn's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
