Two dominant signal callers in Luke Ullrich and Michael Hawkins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Colleyville Heritage Panthers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Emerson Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Colleyville Heritage had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 38-34 W over Argyle on Friday.
Colleyville Heritage's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ullrich, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns. Colleyville Heritage also got help from Braden Blueitt who showed off his sure hands for 117 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Emerson entered their tilt with Rider with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Emerson came out on top against Rider by a score of 55-42 on Friday.
Hawkins was his usual excellent self, throwing for 217 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Kameron Lockhart was another key contributor, gaining 85 total yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Colleyville Heritage to 12-1 and Argyle to 10-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Colleyville Heritage and Emerson haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Colleyville Heritage commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.3 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Emerson struggles in that department as they've been even better at 7.7 per game.
