The Glen Iris Baptist Swordsmen waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They escaped with a win against Mt. Pleasant Christian by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Joshua Everett, who scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Dickey, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Glen Iris Baptist's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Mt. Pleasant Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Glen Iris Baptist won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Providence Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Providence Classical is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Mt. Pleasant Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Marshall Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m.
