The Forsan Buffaloes will head out on the road to face off against the Reagan County Owls at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Forsan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 862nd, while Reagan County is ranked 361st).
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Forsan, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-28 loss to Sterling City. Forsan has struggled against Sterling City recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Reagan County entered their tilt with Sonora with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Everything went Reagan County's way against Sonora on Tuesday as Reagan County made off with a 76-53 victory. Reagan County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Kason Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 7-for-14 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 44 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Reagan County's points. Another player making a difference was Jarrett Brown, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Forsan's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-13. As for Reagan County, their victory was their 18th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6.
Forsan beat Reagan County 60-52 in their previous matchup on January 2nd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forsan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
