The Bishop Manogue Miners lost against the Reno Huskies back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bishop Manogue took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies. Bishop Manogue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Bishop Manogue saw an underclassman step up: James Williams scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Jackson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
It was another big night for Harvey Smerdon, who scored 18 points for Reno. Jackson Higgins was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Bishop Manogue's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Reno, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Manogue will face off against the Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carson has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Reno, they will head out on the road to take on the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
