The Antietam Mountaineers lost against the Schuylkill Valley Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Antietam fell to Schuylkill Valley 51-47.
Despite the loss, Antietam saw an underclassman step up: AJ Schiefly scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonas Coste, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Antietam's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Schuylkill Valley, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antietam will take on Hamburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamburg is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Schuylkill Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Wyomissing at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
