In what's become a running theme this season, Regents gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 62-35 win over United Christian Academy on the road. Given Regents' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while United Christian Academy is ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Regents' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morris Hoffman led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hoffman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josh Morales, who scored ten points along with eight steals.
Blue Ridge Christian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Regents, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Blue Ridge Christian came up short against Regents when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 51-38. Can Blue Ridge Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
