C.B. Aycock kicked off their season on the road  on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosewood Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Falcons of the  3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in September of 2022.
 C.B. Aycock started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-13, 26-24,  25-11.
 Camiya Frederick paced C.B. Aycock's offense, picking up seven kills. Frederick got some help from  Ava Jenkins and her 12 assists.
 Rosewood can attribute much of their success to  Khiry Reese, who  had 16  digs and two  aces. Reese has been hot, having  posted 13 or more  digs the last six times she's  played.  Bella Mazura was another key player,  getting 17 assists and nine  digs.
Rosewood has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
 C.B. Aycock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  3-0  loss against J.H. Rose on the 13th. As for Rosewood, they are taking a road trip to  take on Neuse Charter  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
