Baseball Recap: Mount Juliet Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Mount Juliet Christian Academy lost against Ezell-Harding Christian on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mount Juliet Christian Academy took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ezell-Harding Christian. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jonah Kleinmann put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Kleinmann wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was George Dayton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Mount Juliet Christian Academy is 5-1 when Dayton posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise.

Mount Juliet Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet Christian Academy will challenge University School of Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles take on Cane Ridge Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
