Fort Osage has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Excelsior Springs Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Monday, it was a hard-fought match, but Fort Osage had to settle for a 36-33 loss against Grandview. While losing is never fun, Fort Osage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while Grandview is ranked 161st).
Even though Excelsior Springs has not done well against Odessa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. Excelsior Springs secured a 48-42 W over Odessa. Excelsior Springs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Fort Osage's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Excelsior Springs, they pushed their record up to 3-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Fort Osage against Excelsior Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 67-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fort Osage since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
