It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Central City/Centura had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lincoln Christian Crusaders 8-6. The victory was nothing new for the Kernels as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Colbyn Peters was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colter Lueders was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four RBI and one double.
Central City/Centura's record is now 24-1. As for Lincoln Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
