Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Jonathan Alder's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Jonathan Alder got themselves on the board against Independence on Thursday, but Independence never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the 76ers. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Macy Pruitt looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Jonathan Alder let Raegan Tremayne and Katelyn Rihl run wild. Tremayne went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Rihl went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Rihl has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Ruetsch, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jonathan Alder always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .786. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jonathan Alder is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

As of now, neither Jonathan Alder nor the 76ers have any future games scheduled.
