The biggest upset of the week belonged to Stratford, who took down 72nd ranked Stratford, 49-32. Joseph Piatnik threw for 52 yards and ran for 210 yards in the win.
New Fairfield was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in Southwest. The Rebels beat Weston 42-21 earlier in the week.
Devante Teel was the best wideout in the league this week as Bunnell fell to Barlow. Teel racked up four receptions for 159 yards. Andrew Calzone helped Bunnell's passing attack out by catching three balls for 46 yards.
Joe Pacheco was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 238 yards on 28 carries as New Fairfield lost to the Falcons. Nick Guardi also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Tyler Hassett threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns. He went 18-27 with zero interceptions.
5-foot-10 quarterback Brad Westmark of Brookfield is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1509. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, Anthony Fata's team's Pacheco has rushed for 1468 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Justin Schaffer. The Weston star has 39 catches for 629 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bethel takes on Newtown. At the moment, the Wildcats are in 10th, while the Nighthawks are in first.
Newtown extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Notre Dame Catholic, 43-6. The win marks sixth in a row for the Steve George's team.
