Brooks will challenge Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Brooks took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Curie with a sharp 13-3 win.

Amaya Estrada made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Estrada is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least two every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Jayla Tarr was incredible, firing off two home runs, three stolen bases, and four runs while going 4-for-4. Tarr is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maria Garcia, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Brooks kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Hancock put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lindblom a 17-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for Hancock in their matchups with Lindblom: they've now won four in a row.
Alyssa Diaz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Diaz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Madelynn Dejesus and Roselynn Padilla did most of the damage at the plate: Dejesus got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Padilla got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Chloe Dougherty was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
The win got Hancock back to even at 5-5. As for Brooks, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Brooks hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .418. However, it's not like Hancock struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Brooks might still be hurting after the 18-10 loss they got from Hancock when the teams last played back in May of 2021. Can Brooks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
