The Sterling Golden Warriors will take on the Sherrard Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Sherrard will be up against a hot Sterling squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Sterling's pitchers stepped up to hand Dixon a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Golden Warriors this season.

Lily Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Mya Lira was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Rosie Cantu was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
Sterling was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Sherrard made easy work of Moline on Friday and carried off a 6-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Like Sterling, Sherrard also got a great game from a two-way player: Danni Neppl. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Neppl was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylee Faccio was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Savanah Hauger, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Sterling pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sherrard, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
