Hilltop moved up to 521 from 607 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Metro - South Bay. The Lancers climbed the ranks as a result of topping Montgomery 27-6.
Mar Vista took down Castle Park 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Landon Clark threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 30 yards in the win.
Dustin Downs was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 120 yards on 21 carries as Hilltop topped the Trojans. Montel Campbell also contributed to the rushing game with 23 yards on the ground.
Garcia was the best wideout in the league this week as Mar Vista bested Castle Park. Garcia racked up two receptions for 117 yards.
Southwest's Dominic Villamor and Chistopher (Chris) Martinez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Metro - South Bay in both passing and receiving yards. Villamor has thrown for 857 yards this season, while Martinez, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 18 catches for 260 yards. Brian Hay's team's Kenny Nieves leads the league in rushing yards with 603.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place San Ysidro takes on second place Mar Vista. Last week, San Ysidro topped Sweetwater, while the Mariners beat Hans Graham's team.
