Even though the Ashe County Huskies have not done well against the Hibriten Panthers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ashe County snuck past Hibriten with a 46-40 win. That's two games straight that Ashe County has won by exactly six points.
Ashe County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Graybeal out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Lemly, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Ashe County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Hibriten, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
Ashe County will take on South Caldwell at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Caldwell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Ashe County in North Carolina (South Caldwell is ranked 149th, while Ashe County is ranked 427th). As for Hibriten, they will head out on the road to take on Alexander Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Alexander Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
