Osceola had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-9 to make it eight. They came up short against the Jasper Eagles, falling 20-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-3 back in March.
Osceola saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Hamby, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Another was Roslyn Snider, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Jasper, their record now sits at 11-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
On Jasper's side, Chloe Storm was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, Storm posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Kiley Helms was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivea Roberts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and three RBI.
As of now, neither Osceola nor Jasper have any future games scheduled.
