They walked away with a 49-42 win over Hamburg. Given West Seneca West's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Seneca West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Gunnells, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Ecker, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Mount St. Mary Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Buffalo Seminary for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-30 win at home. That 28 point margin sets a new team best for Mount St. Mary Academy this season.
West Seneca West is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Mount St. Mary Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
