Hart County is 1-7 against Nelson County since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Hart County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Nelson County will be up against a hot Hart County team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Raiders walked away with a 10-5 victory over Monroe County on Saturday.
Brayden Minor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Austin Martin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Hart County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 8-2 (and 8-16-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Gower, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Nelson County came up short against Boyle County on Saturday and fell 8-5. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hart County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Nelson County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hart County couldn't quite finish off Nelson County when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
