The Godley Wildcats had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 64-51 win over Ferris on Tuesday. For Godley, this counts as revenge for the 61-51 defeat Ferris walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Ferris' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah Harris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Jordan Texada who scored 14 points along with two steals. Harris hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games. Joshua B mcgee was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Ferris was without their leading scorer, Julio Morales, in Tuesday's game. With Morales sitting this one out, Omari Tyner got some extra time on the court (four vs. his season average of 1.75).
Godley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-19. As for Ferris, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.
Godley will head out on the road to face off against Venus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Ferris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kennedale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Ferris: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Kennedale has snatched up 11 consecutive wins on the road.
