The Brooklyn Tech Engineers's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against John Jay by a score of 61-51. The win was just what Brooklyn Tech needed coming off of a 68-35 defeat in their prior match.
Brooklyn Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Baseer Mirza out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Mirza posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Chadwyck Beckford, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds.
Brooklyn Tech's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for John Jay, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooklyn Tech will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Transit Tech at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Transit Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Brooklyn Tech likes a good challenge. John Jay will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bushwick at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Bushwick is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
