The biggest upset of the week belonged to Luther North, who took down 411th ranked Hope Academy, 32-30.
Marquette extended the longest winning streak in Northeastern this week by beating Mooseheart, 35-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Hiawatha's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mike Mercado threw for 98 and one touchdown and Derek Ross had 40 yards receiving. On the ground Mercado chipped in 40 yards. Nick Doolittle helped Hiawatha's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
Hiawatha's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mercado has thrown for 471 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Ross has 10 catches for 167 yards. Dakotah Quimby leads the league in rushing with 317 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Alden-Hebron/Faith Lutheran takes on Marquette. At the moment, the Green Giants are in fifth, while Tom Jobst's team is in first.
North Shore Country Day moved up to 262 from 310 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Northeastern. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of a 39-22 win over the Hawks.
