Mt. Rainier has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Kamiak Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Mt. Rainier is ranked 167th, while Kamiak is ranked 187th).
Mt. Rainier suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Tahoma at home and fell 72-28. Mt. Rainier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Zach Luz, who scored six points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Armstrong, who scored four points.
Mt. Rainier struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Kamiak pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 70-69 to North Creek. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (68), Kamiak still had to take the loss.
Mt. Rainier's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kamiak, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
