If the Timpanogos Timberwolves were riding high off their 77-51 takedown of the Uintah Utes last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Timpanogos was the victim of a tough 67-41 loss at the hands of Layton Christian Academy on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Timpanogos has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Timpanogos had strong showings from Steven LaPray, who scored 11 points, and Jaxen Mccuistion, who scored seven points along with two steals. Luke Livingston was another key contributor, scoring two points along with two steals.
Timpanogos has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season. As for Layton Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timpanogos will take on Provo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Provo is ranked 41st, while Timpanogos is ranked 47th). As for Layton Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Payson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday.
