Basketball Recap: Bethel Has No Trouble Against Staples

After losing to Staples the last time they met, Bethel decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Bethel Wildcats blew past the Staples Wreckers 56-34 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Staples saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Smith dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Freya Harvey, who posted five points and four steals.

Bethel's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Staples, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Bethel is taking a road trip to challenge Ansonia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Staples, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sheehan at 7:00 p.m.
