Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Paris

Paris entered their tilt with Newport on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 17-4 win. 17 seems to be a good number for the Greyhounds as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Sam Morris made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Morris was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Paris let Landon Brown and Will Wilson run wild. Brown went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Wilson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Paris is undefeated when Wilson posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Bryan Brown was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Paris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Newport only posted an OBP of .318.

Paris' record is now 4-2. As for Newport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Paris will head out on the road to challenge Robertson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Newport, they will welcome Beechwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
