The biggest upset of the week belonged to Suffern, who took down 259th ranked Scarsdale, 35-28. Chris Gragnani threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 32 yards in the win.
Mamaroneck's Marquez Jackson-Allen rumbled for the longest rushing play in Section 1 AA this season in his game against Carmel last week. Jackson-Allen scampered for 78 yards on the play and finished with 106 on the day as his team defeated the Rams.
Georgio Cineus made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Mounties beat the Raiders. The 5-foot-10 senior recorded one fumble and grabbed 1.0 sack.
Erik Glover was the best wideout in the league this week as Suffern defeated Scarsdale. Glover racked up two receptions for 64 yards. Harley McNally helped Suffern's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Nick Connell was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 317 yards as North Rockland bested the Raiders. Teammate Michael Cappabianca added to the ground attack by rushing for 58 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Gragnani of Suffern is the league leader in passing yards this season with 572. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Raiders' Connell has rushed for 1038 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mat Marino. The Mamaroneck star has 14 catches for 266 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when New Rochelle takes on John Jay. At the moment, the Huguenots are in first, while the Patriots are in fourth.
The Mounties moved up to 375 from 436 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Suffern was able to make the jump by beating Scarsdale 35-28.
