Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Forrest

Forrest had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Community Vikings/Viqueens. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 last Monday.

Luke Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Branham Haynes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Forrest's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Community, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forrest will face off against Shelbyville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Rockets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Community, they will square off against Cornersville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
