Two dominant guards in Alyssa Marsh and Jahzell Strong are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lima Christian Saints will be playing in front of their home fans against the Young Women's College Prep Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Lima Christian beat Rochester Prep 59-50. The win was just what Lima Christian needed coming off of a 61-39 loss in their prior game.
Lima Christian can attribute much of their success to Lily Herring, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and four steals, and Marsh, who scored 33 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marsh has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sophy Britton, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Young Women's College Prep put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Franklin at home to the tune of 61-31.
Lima Christian has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Young Women's College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Lima Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Young Women's College Prep when the teams last played back in January, winning 49-39. Does Lima Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Young Women's College Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
