Norwich Free Academy faced Waterford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Wildcats took  a  3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  9-5  back in April.
 Norwich Free Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Chloe Green, who  went 1-for-2 with two  stolen bases.
This is the second loss in a row for Norwich Free Academy and  nudges their season record down to 14-5. As for Waterford, the  victory (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwich Free Academy will face off against Killingly at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Waterford, they will square off against Law at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
