Basketball Recap: Appling Christian Academy Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

If First Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Appling Christian Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Jaden Drake. The Appling Christian Academy Eagles took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 68-32 win over the First Academy Lions thanks in part to Drake, who posted 27 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Christiansen, who had six points and 16 rebounds. What's more, he also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Logan James and Rylan Peacock certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. James went 5 of 8 on his way to 10 points, while Peacock put up ten points.

The victory (which was Appling Christian Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.2 points. As for First Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Appling Christian Academy will face off against Crossroads Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Appling Christian Academy is facing Crossroads Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Crossroads Christian Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for First Academy, they will take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
