Softball Recap: Centennial Picks Up 29th Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Centennial had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eldorado Golden Eagles an 11-0 shutout. The win was just business as usual for the Hawks, who after 26 games remain undefeated this season.

Amanda Valles was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Milam, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eldorado only posted an OBP of .235.

Centennial's victory was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 26-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eldorado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season.

Centennial has already played their next game (against Atrisco Heritage Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Eldorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
