IMG Academy Black won against Dunedin last Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. IMG Academy Black put the hurt on the Grove City Greyhounds with a sharp 16-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Ascenders, who have now won 12 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Bennett Jacobs looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Frankie Thomas, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Sebastian Wilson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

IMG Academy Black's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Grove City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, IMG Academy Black will face off against Sebring at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grove City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lakewood Ranch at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grove City is facing Lakewood Ranch at the right time seeing as Lakewood Ranch is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
