Basic is a perfect 3-0 against Bonanza since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Wolves will head out to square off against the Bengals at 3:30 p.m.
Basic managed to slip by Doral Academy Red Rock the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves came up short against the Dragons on Friday, falling 10-3. The Wolves' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Melanie Hughes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up ten Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, Mercedes Escarcega was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mia Frias, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bonanza). They were the clear victors by a 24-7 margin over Eldorado on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bengals needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Bonanza got a massive performance out of Kadnyce Boss-Korf, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave Boss-Korf a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Xochi Mendoza, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.
Bonanza always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Basic's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-8. As for Bonanza, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.
Everything went Basic's way against Bonanza in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Basic made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
