The North Forney Falcons will face off against the Garland Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Forney is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Garland in Texas (North Forney is ranked 78th, while Garland is ranked 232nd).
After soaring to 54 points the game before, North Forney were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 31-10 loss at the hands of Rockwall-Heath. It was the first time this season that North Forney let down their fans at home.
North Forney's loss came about despite a quality game from Jermald Patterson, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Patterson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Meanwhile, Garland put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Wylie as Garland made off with a 31-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Garland.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrone Crethers, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Orlando Routt, who threw for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
With North Forney's defeat and Rockwall-Heath's win, both teams now sport identical 8-2 records.
