Basketball Recap: Marana Skates Past San Tan Foothills with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marana). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-28 victory over the San Tan Foothills Sabercats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted since January 10th.

Adrian Griffin was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted nine points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Dixon-Jordan, who earned eight points and three steals.

Marana was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

San Tan Foothills' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alianna Taylor, who had 13 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ahmira Taylor, who put up seven points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Marana's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for San Tan Foothills, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Marana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-31 loss against ALA - West Foothills on the 13th. As for San Tan Foothills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-31 defeat against Vista Grande on the 14th.
