Juan Diego Catholic extended the longest winning streak in 3AA - North this week by beating Uintah, 38-16. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Park City took down Ben Lomond 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ian Moritz threw for 186 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 84 yards during the win.
Jardee Nessen threw for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 17-31 with 1 interception.
Vaisa Maile made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Utes lost to Juan Diego Catholic. The 5-foot-8 junior forced 1 fumble, recorded 2 fumbles and grabbed 1 sack.
Moritz provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Miners topped the Scots. Moritz's key target this week was Carson Dutkanych, who caught 7 passes for 76 yards.
Colton Jensen was the best receiver in the league this week as Bear River topped Payson. Jensen tallied 7 receptions for 138 yards. Taylor Lund helped Bear River's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 55 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Bears' Nessen and Jensen have proven to be a lethal combination. Nessen has thrown for 2,021 yards this season, while Jensen, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 47 catches for 1,018 yards. Chase Williams from John Colosimo's team leads the league in rushing with 606 yards.
The top two teams in 3AA - North will face off this week when first place Juan Diego Catholic takes on second place Stansbury. The Soaring Eagles beat Uintah last week, while Stansbury defeated Tooele.
