After taking the lead on a kick return,
Bacon County (Alma, Ga.) went into halftime with a 13-0 lead.
McIntosh County Academy (Darien, Ga.) scored the winning points with a touchdown catch by
Buzz Saunds that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, the Buccaneers still trailed by 13 points going into the fourth quarter. But 19 points in the fourth helped McIntosh County Academy pull out the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for MCA, which was coming off a 27-20 defeat at the hands of Bryan County in its previous game. The defeat comes as a step back for Bacon County, who notched a 14-13 victory over Jeff Davis in its previous outing. The loss snapped Bacon County's two-game winning streak.
Bacon County (2-3) will play a AA Region 2 game against Long County next week, while McIntosh County Academy (2-3) will take on Toombs County also in a AA Region 2 game.
