South Bend Career Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Knights are ranked 90th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 84-45, which was the final score in South Bend Career Academy's tilt against the Lancers on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Mishawaka Marian entered their tilt with the Lions with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Mishawaka Marian blew past the Lions 61-24 at home on Thursday.
Mishawaka Marian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Maust, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. It was the first time this season that Maust scored 15 or more points. Zion Rhoades was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals.
South Bend Career Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Mishawaka Marian, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8.
South Bend Career Academy took a serious blow against the Knights when the teams last played back in February of 2015, falling 103-25. Thankfully for South Bend Career Academy, Devin Cannady (who scored 16 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
