Ryan Keller was the best pitcher in 2A Region III District 24 this week. He picked up two wins and 14 strikeouts.
Top honors in the league this week go to the Bulldogs, which finished with five wins overall, good for best in the league. New Waverly beat
College Station 19-4,
Anderson-Shiro 4-0,
Iola 15-4 and
Fayetteville 10-0.
The Bulldogs' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 17 hits and 12 walks to lead the league in both categories.
2A Region III District 24's Keller had a great week on the mound, as he led the league with two wins and 14 strikeouts.
Three batters hit over .400 this week. The group was paced by Chaz Jackson, who collected nine hits in 16 at bats for a .562 average.
Colton Herzog was an RBI machine on Saturday, as he knocked in four runs during New Waverly's 19-4 win over the Cougars. He went 2-for-4 and scored three runs.
