Basketball Recap: Wakefield Skates Past Centre with Ease

Wakefield won against Herington last Tuesday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Wakefield Bombers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Centre Cougars 49-20. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bombers had established a 20 point advantage.

Leading Wakefield to victory were Paige Smith and Allison Adams. Smith went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points along with five boards and four steals, while Adams posted ten points and six assists. The matchup was Smith's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Thurlow, who had six points and eight rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Wakefield was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centre only posted three assists.

Wakefield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Centre, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Wakefield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-28 defeat against Herington on the 24th. Centre has also already played their next match, a 39-31 loss against Douglass on the 24th.
