The Wren Hurricanes waltzed into their game on Thursday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They enjoyed a cozy 80-62 win over Southside. Given Wren's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Southside is ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wren's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brock Cherry, who scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals. Cherry is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Abijah Franklin was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Wren has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Southside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-16.
Wren does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Southside also has no future games currently scheduled.
