St. Bede is 2-8 against Hall since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Bruins will head out to face off against the Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. St. Bede is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
St. Bede came out on top against Bureau Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Bruins walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Storm. The win continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won five in a row.
Maks Baker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Geno Dinges also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hall). They put the hurt on Mendota with a sharp 15-0 victory on Monday. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.
Luke Bryant made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hall is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4-1 otherwise. Bryant was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hall got a massive performance out of Jaxon Pinter, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Hunter Edgcomb was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Hall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mendota only posted an OBP of .273.
Hall now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for St. Bede, their record is now 4-5.
Hall's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Bede hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Hall, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain St. Bede's hitters?
St. Bede skirted past Hall 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bruins since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
