Caverna has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and the Larue County Hawks will face off at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Caverna can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 73-48 margin over Glasgow.
Jaylin Craine was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten assists. Tyson Martin was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Larue County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 72-61 to Adair County. Larue County found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post eight fewer assists than your opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Landon Blakey, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Mardis, who scored 17 points.
Caverna's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-7. As for Larue County, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Caverna came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 74-72. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Larue County's Daniel Allen, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
