After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fruitland, Kimberly was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Jerome Tigers as they made off with an 11-4 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Colton Sabin made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Kimberly is undefeated when Sabin allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Sabin was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March.
In other batting news, Kimberly got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Bybee, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Bybee hit this season. Another player making a difference was MaCraye Bruning, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
Kimberly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jerome only posted a batting average of .250.
Kimberly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jerome, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kimberly will take on Gooding at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jerome, they will challenge Shelley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Russets at the right time seeing as the Russets are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
