With a playoff win on the line, Whitmer rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Mentor Cardinals 81-54. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Mentor's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Kennedy, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. The game was Kennedy's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Tony Katava, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

The win was the seventh in a row for Whitmer, bringing their record for this year to 16-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points over those games. As for Mentor, they moved to 15-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Whitmer nor Mentor have any future games scheduled.
