Basketball Recap: Whitwell's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Whitwell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They snuck past the Bledsoe County Warriors with a 43-38 victory. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 47-46 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Whitwell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Grace Harvey, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance also gave Harvey a new career-high in blocks (four). Callie Brock was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Despite the loss, Bledsoe County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Betsy Farmer posted seven points. Lilianne Sherrell was another key player, posting five points along with five assists and three steals.

Whitwell's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bledsoe County, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Whitwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-41 loss against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts on the 10th. As for Bledsoe County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-40 defeat against Van Buren County on the 13th.
