NCISAA Carolina Piedmont recap September 4, 2013
Christ School was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to third in NCISAA Carolina Piedmont. The Greenies defeated Rabun Gap-Nacoochee 21-20 earlier in the week.
SouthLake Christian Academy moved up to 220 from 264 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. SouthLake Christian Academy was able to make move up by defeating Victory Christian Center 30-12.
Hickory Grove Christian's dynamic duo of Bruce Dixon and Bryson Allen proved tough for Wake Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Dixon threw for 288 yards and 4 touchdowns and Allen had 107 yards receiving. Chris Bryant helped Hickory Grove Christian's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 94 yards.
The Lions' dynamic duo of Dixon and Allen proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He went 12-23 with 1 interceptions.
Ellis Pace was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 200 yards on 22 carries as Christ School beat Wake Christian Academy. Mark Glaeser also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.
Elliott Neal made the biggest impact on defense this week as Jamie Craft's team bested Stephen Cochran's team. The 5-foot-8 senior.
Allen was the best receiver in NCISAA Carolina Piedmont this week as the Lions beat the Bulldogs.
Dixon put up the best numbers in passing as Hickory Grove Christian beat Wake Christian Academy.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Lions' Dixon and Allen have proven to be a lethal combination. Dixon has thrown for 561 yards this season, while Allen, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 8 catches for 221 yards. Pace from Mark Moroz's team leads the league in rushing with 200 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Geoff O'Donnell's team takes on the Greenies. At the moment, SouthLake Christian Academy is in first, while Christ School is in third.
The Greenies and the Eagles played the most contested game in the league this week, with the Greenies eventually emerging with a 21-20 victory. Pace caught 1 passes for 13 yards in the win.
