After two games on the road, Glenelg is heading back home. They will take on the Atholton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Wednesday, Glenelg came up short against Mt. Hebron and fell 56-49.
Meanwhile, Atholton unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 61-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howard. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Atholton in their matchups with Howard: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Camden Thibeault, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Amir Shaheed, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Glenelg has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Atholton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.
Glenelg was able to grind out a solid victory over Atholton when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 54-43. Will Glenelg repeat their success, or does Atholton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
